Our traditional mountain hut in Val d'Ultimo in Montechiesa

The Val d'Ultimo Valley in the Merano & environs region is known for its high number of alpine huts. Small wooden huts, mostly constructed from entire tree trunks, which can be found high up in the mountains between spruce and larch trees. The locals are convinced that there is no other place to enjoy relaxing in peace, and they are probably right.

Part of Ultnerhof is a small mountain hut in Val d'Ultimo in the Montechiesa Valley located at over 2,100 metres of altitude. We would love to accompany you, but unfortunately we usually just don't find the time. The hut is however easy to find, and a good friend of our house awaits you, a former ranger of the Passo di Stelvio National Park. While you enjoy a refreshment after your hike, he will tell you many interesting things about flora and fauna in this area. Before you go enjoy a typical "Spaghettata". Up here in an alpine hut in Val d'Ultimo the pasta tastes even better.
